Bulgaria returns to Junior Eurovision this year, having not participated since the 2011 contest in Yerevan. Heading to Malta are three young talents: Krisia, Hasan, and Ibrahim. Junior Eurovision is annual contest for children of age between 10 and 15 years. The competition is organised by  the European Broadcasting Union. This year Junior Eurovision is about to be held in Malta on November, 15th.

Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim all gained popularity throughout Bulgaria through their participation in “Slavi’s Show”. For Junior Eurovision 2014, national broadcaster BNT and commercial station bTV have united to represent Bulgaria in the best possible way. Krisia, Hasan, and Ibrahim were therefore selected internally, through a partnership between the two channels.
At 10 years old, Krisia Marinova Todorova is one of the youngest singers taking part in this year’s competition. However, despite her tender age she has a staggeringly long list of achievements in Bulgaria already – including singing her country’s national anthem to over 40,000 people at the national stadium in Sofia. Brothers Hasan and Ibrahim Ignatov are also 10 years old, and are both exceptional pianists despite their young ages.

About the song

“Planet of the children”, which will be sung entirely in Bulgarian, is about a fairy that wants to wake the child inside everyone. The fairy believes that wars, fear and famine do not exist on the children’s planet, only goodness. In English, the chorus reads:
It will be a planet of children,
without hunger and fear, and war.
It will be a planet of children,
our Earth.

On stage

The three children will be the only people on stage for Bulgaria’s entry, which will see them all doing what they do best – Krisia singing, and Hasan and Ibrahim playing pianos around her. Dry ice was included as part of the preview video, and is expected to be a feature on stage in Malta.
